The Enugu State Police Command has ordered the deployment of security personnel to all approved centres for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test across the state.
The directive was issued by the Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, as part of measures to ensure a safe and conducive environment for candidates and examination officials.
According to the command, the deployment aligns with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to guarantee security throughout the examination period.
CP Giwa in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe said police operatives have been instructed to maintain professionalism while preventing examination malpractice, disorderly conduct, and any form of security breach at the centres.
He added that officers would work in collaboration with other security agencies to secure examination venues, surrounding areas, and access routes.
He urged candidates, parents, and the general public to cooperate with security personnel and adhere strictly to examination guidelines to ensure a smooth exercise.
Giwa also reassured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, while encouraging the public to report suspicious activities to the police.
