The Ogun State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets across 72 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to ensure the safe conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination, organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, is scheduled to hold from April 16 to 25 across the state.
A statement by the command's spokesman, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi said the deployment forms part of proactive and intelligence-led security measures aimed at guaranteeing a safe, orderly, and credible examination process.
According to the command, the operational plan includes increased police visibility, early threat detection, and rapid response to any security concerns before, during, and after the examination period.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, directed all Area Commanders to remain on heightened alert and take full responsibility for security within their jurisdictions.
He also instructed officers to intensify patrols around examination centres and work closely with Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams, and JAMB officials to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise.
He warned that any attempt at examination malpractice, impersonation, or disorderly conduct would attract swift arrest and prosecution.
Ojajuni reassured residents of robust security coverage throughout the examination period and urged candidates to comply with all guidelines and conduct themselves responsibly.
He also called on members of the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies through designated emergency lines.
