Kazeem declares Alimosho I Assembly bid, promises inclusive and accessible leadership
A journalist and broadcaster, Oluwanifemi Kazeem, has declared her intention to contest for Alimosho Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kazeem made the declaration after consultations with party leaders in the constituency, stating that her ambition is driven by the growing demand for youthful, accessible, and development-focused representation.
Speaking with journalists, she pledged to deliver quality representation anchored on inclusiveness and active community engagement, noting that she would operate an open-door policy to ensure constituents have a voice in governance.
“I am coming into the race with a full understanding of the workings of the constituency, the state legislature, and the various interests of our people,” she said.
She described Alimosho I as a critical constituency within the APC, highlighting its large voting population, particularly women, whom she said deserve stronger and more effective representation.
Kazeem added that she is prepared to amplify the voices of women and other underrepresented groups in the constituency.
The aspirant, who hails from a politically active family, is the daughter of M. Kazeem and Olabisi Kazeem, a former councillor under the Progressive People Alliance.
She received her early education in Alimosho and later attended Olabisi Onabanjo University. She also trained at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria training school.
With over two decades of experience, Kazeem has worked with several media organisations, including Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT and RayPower, as well as Television Continental and City People Magazine.
She noted that her experience covering the Lagos State House of Assembly has equipped her with deep knowledge of governance, policymaking, and community development, which she intends to deploy in serving the people of Alimosho Constituency I.
