Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 146 suspects in a coordinated security operation in Sagamu aimed at preventing crime and maintaining public order.

The operation, code-named “Operation Keep Sagamu Safe,” was carried out in the early hours of April 13, 2026, by operatives of the Sagamu Area Command in collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the intelligence-led raid targeted identified flashpoints within Sagamu where suspected criminal elements were believed to be operating.

The exercise involved personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, the military, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Amotekun Corps, the Ogun State Community Security (So-Safe) Corps, and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

According to Babaseyi, the suspects are currently undergoing screening to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities, after which those found culpable will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution.

The state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the collaboration among security agencies, describing it as a demonstration of effective joint operational response.

He assured residents of the command’s continued commitment to intelligence-driven policing and proactive measures to ensure safety across the state.

CP Ojajuni urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.
