PBAT-KOH Campaign Council Targets 3 Million Votes for Tinubu, Hamzat in 2027
... Obanikoro says 2023 election was a wake-up call; Lagos governorship candidate to unveil manifesto on Friday
The Director-General of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has declared that the campaign will target three million votes for President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, in the 2027 general elections.
Obanikoro said the party would not allow a repeat of what happened during the 2023 elections, describing the outcome as a wake-up call for the political camp.
He made the remarks at the council’s maiden media briefing at its campaign office in Ikeja, organised to kick-start preparations for the re-election campaigns of Tinubu and Hamzat.
The campaign director-general also announced that Hamzat would unveil his manifesto on Friday at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos.
According to him, the event would provide the governorship candidate with an opportunity to present his agenda and economic blueprint to Lagos residents.
Obanikoro said the future of Lagos was too important to be treated lightly, stressing that decisions taken today would affect generations to come.
He acknowledged the progress recorded in the state but said more work remained to be done, particularly in addressing existing challenges and creating greater opportunities for residents.
He added that the campaign would be anchored on continued progress and inclusivity, with a commitment to ensuring that no resident was left behind because of religion, gender or social status.
Obanikoro also stressed the need to respect the rights of Lagos' indigenous people, alongside the broader responsibility of building a state that offers opportunities to all residents.
On waste management, he acknowledged concerns over the increasing volume of waste generated in the state, noting that the government had acquired and deployed additional compactor trucks to address the challenge.
Earlier, the Director of Information, Communication and Branding of the campaign council, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said the briefing was an important step towards commencing mobilisation for the re-election of Tinubu and Hamzat.
Oladejo said the engagement was also designed to outline the party’s electioneering plans, while appreciating members of the media for their continued support and cooperation.
The council said it would intensify its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with the three-million-vote target forming a central part of its mobilisation strategy.
