Customer Service Week: Lagos Police Pledge Better, People-Centred Policing

CP Tijani Fatai

The Lagos State Police Command has pledged to go the extra mile in delivering better, more responsive and people-centred policing to residents of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, made the commitment as the command joined Nigerians in commemorating the 2026 Customer Service Week, themed “Going the Extra Mile.”

CP Fatai appreciated Lagos residents for their continued support, constructive feedback and willingness to hold the command accountable, saying their observations, criticisms and suggestions remained important in improving police services.

The Commissioner said the command would continue to listen, learn and serve with humility and integrity, while strengthening its partnership with the public.

He stressed that going the extra mile was not merely a theme for the celebration but a commitment to better policing, stronger police-community partnerships and a safer Lagos.

CP Fatai urged residents to continue providing constructive feedback and working with the police towards improved public safety.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to building public trust through purposeful service, humility and integrity.

“Going the extra mile. Serving with purpose. Building trust together,” he said, reiterating the Command’s message that the police are partners with the communities they serve.
