Customer Service Week: Enugu Police Pledge Citizen-Focused Policing

The Enugu State Police Command has pledged to go the extra mile in delivering citizen-focused policing, with the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, stressing the need to put residents at the centre of police operations.

CP Giwa made the commitment on Wednesday as the Command joined citizens and security stakeholders across its Area Commands, Divisions and operational units to mark the 2026 Customer Service Week.

The celebration, held in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, was themed “The Extra Mile.”

The Commissioner said going the extra mile in policing involved listening to citizens’ concerns, responding proactively and delivering services with professionalism, respect and integrity.

He said the Command would continue to improve service delivery, strengthen police-community partnerships and ensure that members of the public were treated with dignity and fairness.

CP Giwa also expressed appreciation to residents of Enugu State for their trust, cooperation and support for effective policing and community safety.

He urged the people to sustain their partnership with the Police by providing useful information and supporting efforts to prevent crime, maintain peace and build safer communities.

The Commissioner assured residents that the Command would continue to improve its services and strengthen citizen-focused policing across the state.
