Nigeria’s Ambassador Akande Presents Credentials to Denmark’s King Frederik X



Nigeria’s Ambassador to Denmark, Lola Akande, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to King Frederik X, marking the official commencement of her diplomatic mission in the Nordic country.

The ceremony took place at the Royal Palace in Copenhagen on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Following the presentation, Ambassador Akande conveyed greetings from President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian people to the Danish monarch and citizens.

She reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Denmark, particularly in trade, investment, technological innovation and sustainable development.

Akande also expressed her resolve to deepen cooperation between both countries and explore opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

The ambassador is Nigeria’s envoy to Sweden, with concurrent accreditation to Denmark, Finland and Norway.

Her latest diplomatic engagement follows the presentation of her credentials to Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf in Stockholm on September 16, 2026, as part of Nigeria’s broader efforts to strengthen relations with countries in the Nordic region.
