Police Declare Two Lagos Men Wanted Over Alleged N115m Fraud

The Nigeria Police Force has declared two Lagos men, Oloyede Joshua Olowoyo and Tomiloye Michael Sunday, wanted over their alleged involvement in a N115 million fraud case.


The two suspects were declared wanted in separate Special Police Gazette Bulletins issued on the authority of the Inspector-General of Police and referenced CR: 3000/LSX/SET 3/VOL. 4/106.


According to the police, Olowoyo is wanted in connection with allegations of conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretence and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.


Tomiloye, on the other hand, is wanted over allegations of conspiracy, fraud, forgery, impersonation and obtaining money.


The police alleged that the two men conspired with others still at large to fraudulently obtain N115 million from a complainant under false pretences.


Olowoyo is described by the police as a man of heavy build, with a round face, long pointed nose, thick lips, prominent eyes and light complexion. His last known address was given as No. 1, Commercial Avenue, Highway Barracks, Sabo, Lagos State.


Tomiloye is described as being of short height and medium build, with a round face, upturned nose, small mouth, thin lips and dark complexion. He is also described as bald, with a large head and rough visible marks or scars. His last known address was listed as Ikorodu, Lagos State.


Both suspects are wanted by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti-Yaba, Lagos.


The police urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to report immediately to the nearest police station or the SCID office on Musliu Smith Street, Panti-Yaba, Lagos State.


The Force also provided 07073457317 as a contact number for information that could assist investigators in locating the suspects.


The allegations against Olowoyo and Tomiloye remain allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a competent court.

CAPPA Urges Policymakers to Regulate Festive Food Marketing in Public Interest

The Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has called on Nigerian policymakers to urgently regulate the marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages, warning that weak oversight is allowing corporate interests to undermine public health, particularly during festive periods. Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos while presenting a new report titled Unhealthy Food Hijack of Festive Periods in Nigeria, CAPPA’s Executive Director, Akinbode Oluwafemi, said incremental policy responses were no longer sufficient given Nigeria’s rising burden of non-communicable diseases. As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate World Food Day 2025, the Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has raised concern over the growing dominance of ultra-processed foods in the country’s food system, warning that weak regulation and unchecked corporate influence are endangering public health. In a statement signed by CAPPA’s Media and Communication Officer, Robert Egbe, and released in Lagos on Thursday, the group said the government must urgently strengthen laws that protect citizens from deceptive marketing and unhealthy food products.
