Lagos APC Lauds Tinubu’s Digital Agenda, Says Reforms Driving Nigeria’s Tech Revolution

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Tinubu for what it described as his visionary leadership in transforming Nigeria into Africa’s emerging digital powerhouse.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said President Tinubu’s commitment to technology-driven governance and innovation is powering a new phase of youth empowerment and economic diversification.

The statement noted that the administration’s policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda have spurred rapid growth in Nigeria’s technology ecosystem, with initiatives such as the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme training young Nigerians in coding, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

It also highlighted the government’s broadband expansion policy, targeting 70 percent coverage by 2025, as well as the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Digital Public Infrastructure Initiative, and the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act as key pillars of the administration’s digital transformation blueprint.

“President Tinubu is continuing the digital governance legacy he pioneered in Lagos State, where technology was used to reform revenue systems, improve service delivery, and strengthen transparency,” Oladejo said.

“Today, that same vision is driving national growth and positioning Nigeria as a digital leader in Africa.”

The Lagos APC further pointed to Nigeria’s growing fintech dominance, with companies such as Flutterwave, Paystack, and Moniepoint leading Africa’s financial technology space, while startups like Andela, Interswitch, and Kuda continue to attract global investment.

According to the statement, the government’s collaboration with global technology giants including Google, Microsoft, and Meta is equipping millions of young Nigerians with digital skills and innovation tools that prepare them for global competitiveness.

Oladejo also noted that digital reforms in public administration, such as e-taxation, digital ID systems, online business registration, and electronic service delivery, are improving efficiency and accountability across government institutions.

Describing the reforms as deliberate and forward-looking, the party said President Tinubu’s strategic investments in digital infrastructure reflect a clear plan to diversify the economy away from oil dependence and towards knowledge-driven growth.

The Lagos APC said the President’s digital transformation agenda mirrors the successful Lagos model that combined innovation, infrastructure, and private sector partnerships to make the state Nigeria’s economic hub.

“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria is not just catching up with the rest of the world, we are taking the lead as Africa’s digital vanguard,” Oladejo said.
