Lagos APC Knocks Dele Momodu Over Comments on 2027 Election

… Says President Tinubu’s Performance Will Secure Victory in 2027

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s performance and reform-driven leadership will guarantee his victory in the 2027 general election.

Reacting to comments by journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, who urged opposition parties to adopt ethnic-based strategies ahead of the next polls, the APC described such advice as a relic of old politics that no longer appeals to Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, said the Nigerian electorate has become more discerning and now prioritises competence and results over ethnic or sentimental considerations.

Oladejo said, “The days of weaponising ethnicity as a shortcut to power are long gone. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria is being rebuilt on the foundation of equity, inclusion, and reform.”

The party maintained that the administration’s policies have begun yielding results in critical sectors such as infrastructure renewal, economic stabilisation, and social investment programmes.

According to the Lagos APC, President Tinubu’s steady approach to governance and his ability to attract local and foreign partnerships have restored investor confidence and positioned Nigeria for sustainable growth.

“President Tinubu’s record speaks for itself. He is focused on transforming the economy, improving national security, and promoting opportunities for all Nigerians. The 2027 election will be a referendum on performance and delivery, not on divisive rhetoric”, the statement added.

Oladejo described Momodu’s recent comments as misplaced, saying those who have failed to achieve electoral success should not be dictating political strategies.

He reiterated that the APC remains united behind President Tinubu and committed to consolidating the gains of the current administration for national development.
