Lagos APC Celebrates COWLSO’s 25 Years of Visionary Leadership and Women Empowerment

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) on its 25th anniversary, celebrating what it described as “twenty-five years of visionary legacy, empowerment, and inspiration” under the theme “Inspiring the Next Generation.”

In a statement signed by the party’s spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the APC commended COWLSO’s enduring contributions to the state’s development, describing the organisation as “a beacon of compassionate service, intellectual growth, and civic responsibility.”

Oladejo praised the foresight of COWLSO’s founders, led by the First Lady of the Federation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and acknowledged the commitment of successive chairpersons, including the current First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for sustaining the organisation’s vision of promoting community service, supporting governance, and empowering women.

He said COWLSO’s interventions in health, education, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment reflect the spirit of continuity and compassion that defines Lagos governance.

“The Lagos APC recognizes COWLSO as a living model of institutional sustainability and intergenerational mentoring,” Oladejo stated. “Its work aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, advancing inclusion, empowerment, and excellence in governance.”

He added that COWLSO’s annual conferences have become intellectual platforms shaping policy discourse and inspiring innovation across multiple sectors.

As the organisation celebrates its silver jubilee, the Lagos APC lauded its role in nurturing women leaders, promoting girl-child education, and strengthening family values, describing these as “the enduring spirit of a Lagos that works, innovates, and leads.”

Reaffirming the party’s support, Oladejo said, “The success of COWLSO is not just a tribute to the women behind it but a reflection of Lagos’ people-centred and visionary governance model.”

He congratulated COWLSO for its achievements and expressed optimism that the organisation will continue to inspire future generations “to serve with empathy, lead with courage, and build with integrity.”
