Kirawa: Zulum Approves Hospital, Water Facilities, Security Measures

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the immediate construction of a new hospital, water facilities, and other essential infrastructure for the people of Kirawa, following a recent violent extremist attack on the community.

Zulum, who visited the area on Friday for an on-the-spot assessment, sympathised with residents and condemned the attack in strong terms.

He assured them of his administration’s commitment to their welfare, safety, and long-term recovery.

Beyond infrastructure, the governor said plans were underway to deploy additional security personnel and establish a new Civilian JTF post to strengthen surveillance and improve rapid response in the border town.

Zulum was accompanied on the visit by the Commander of the 26 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General N. I. Abdullahi, as well as members of the State and National Assembly and senior government officials.

Meanwhile, the governor urged the Nigerian Armed Forces to scale up operations in the state to sustain gains recorded against insurgents.

He noted that a lull in operations had contributed to renewed attacks, stressing the need for continuous military pressure to prevent terrorists from regrouping.
