The party announced the expulsion in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, dated September 23, 2026. Joy Amos receiving treament at the hospital before her death A 29-year-old resident of Bille Kingdom in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ms. Joy Amos, has died from injuries sustained in a gas explosion inside her room on September 3. Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa, CAPPA, disclosed this in a statement signec by its Media and Communications Officer, Robert Egbe, on Wednesday, saying Amos died on Tuesday, September 22, after she was transferred from Bille to Port Harcourt for further treatment. The organisation described her death as a serious consequence of the ongoing environmental and public health concerns over reported gas emissions in Bille. According to CAPPA, the explosion occurred at about 8 a.m. in Amos’ room at No. 18, Opu Ibiila Community, setting part of the building ablaze, shattering its windows and leaving her with extensive burns. Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has unveiled a six-point security roadmap to guide police preparations and deployment for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. Disu announced the plan on Monday at the opening of the 2026 Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers, CARSPO, in Owerri, Imo State. The conference, themed “Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Election Security,” is expected to produce a practical framework for election-security training, deployment and command. The IGP said the roadmap would focus on early intelligence gathering, rigorous training, joint command with sister security agencies, rapid communication, partnership with the public and strict political neutrality. He directed the immediate mapping of electoral flashpoints and criminal networks, stressing that credible intelligence must reach police commands early enough for preventive action. The NDC’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, has reportedly challenged the APC to “take that to the bank,” insisting that Obi’s 2023 victory in Lagos was a political reality and that he would win by a wider margin in 2027. My response is simple: The NDC gladiators should wake up. 2027 is not 2023. Peter Obi’s 2023 performance in Lagos was a legitimate electoral outcome.
