Savannah Energy Nigeria Wins Great Place to Work Award

Savannah Energy PLC, the British independent energy company, has been named the Best in Promoting People Leadership Practices (Medium Category) at the 2025 Great Place to Work Institute’s Best Practices Awards held in Lagos.


In addition to the award, Savannah Energy Nigeria also received the Great Place to Work certification for 2025-2026, recognising its commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-performing work environment.


The awards, organised annually by the Great Place to Work Institute, celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence in leadership, innovation, trust, and employee engagement. 


Savannah Energy was recognised for nurturing individual talent to drive personal growth and organisational improvement.


The certification followed a rigorous evaluation of workplace culture, employee experience, leadership competence, and organisational values.


Country Manager for Great Place to Work, Nigeria and Kenya, Otamere Elegon, said the award and certification reflect Savannah Energy’s commitment to nurturing a culture where people truly thrive, adding that when employees feel valued and inspired, extraordinary results naturally follow.


Managing Director of Savannah Energy Nigeria, Pade Durotoye, described the recognition as an acknowledgement of the company’s focus on employee well-being, learning, development, and an inclusive culture across its operations.


Head of Human Resources at Savannah Energy Nigeria, Yetunde Onabule, said "the award strengthens the company’s responsibility to keep raising the bar for our people", noting that supporting and developing employees is a key pillar of Savannah Energy’s sustainability strategy and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

MRA Calls on Governments to Make Human Rights a Lived Reality for All Nigerians

The Media Rights Agenda (MRA) on Tuesday called on Federal and State Governments to make human rights a lived reality for all Nigerians in accordance with their constitutional obligation to recognize and maintain human dignity.  It said that by so doing, they could begin to rebuild public trust in government, foster national unity, and unlock the true potential of the Nigerian people.
