Lagos Police Commissioner Charges Officers on Proactive Policing, Receives Protective Gear from LSSTF

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, has charged senior officers of the command to intensify proactive policing, intelligence gathering and operational readiness to strengthen security across the state.

The charge was given during a strategic security meeting held with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Commanders of the Police Mobile Force and other tactical commanders to review the security situation in Lagos and enhance crime prevention efforts.

Addressing the officers, the police commissioner stressed the importance of vigilance, effective supervision of personnel and prompt responses to emerging security threats within their various areas of responsibility.

He urged the commanders to maintain high standards of professionalism and ensure that the same values are reflected in the conduct of officers under their command.

In a major boost to the command's operational capacity, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to the police.

The protective equipment was formally presented to the commissioner by Ayodele Ogunsan, who reaffirmed the agency's commitment to supporting security institutions with the resources needed to effectively protect lives and property.

CP Fatai expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for its continued support, describing the donation as a significant contribution to the safety and welfare of officers engaged in frontline security operations.

According to him, the equipment will enhance operational effectiveness, boost officers' confidence and improve their safety while carrying out critical assignments across the state.

The commissioner also commended Lagos residents for their cooperation with the police, noting that information provided by members of the public has contributed significantly to the command's successes in crime prevention and law enforcement.

He appealed for greater collaboration between the police and residents as efforts continue to tackle criminal activities and ensure a safer environment for all.

CP Fatai further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through the command's emergency channels, assuring residents of the police's commitment to maintaining peace, security and public safety throughout Lagos State.
