The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a new milestone on the global stage as Commissioner of Police Olubode Ojajuni has been elected into the INTERPOL Africa Committee.

A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said Ojajuni emerged victorious in a tightly contested election held during the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, securing for Nigeria the fifth seat on the Committee for a two-year tenure.

The INTERPOL Africa Committee plays a crucial role in advising the African Regional Conference, setting crime-fighting priorities, and strengthening cross-border police cooperation.

It also promotes best practices and develops projects to boost regional and continental security.

The victory is seen as a reflection of Nigeria’s rising influence in global law enforcement, particularly in combating transnational crime, terrorism, and other emerging threats.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, congratulated Ojajuni on the feat, stressing that the Nigeria Police remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and international collaboration.

He assured that the Force will continue to deepen partnerships with global security agencies to promote peace and stability worldwide.
