NEMA Endorses Silent Heroes Initiative, Receives Volume 3 of Compendium

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has thrown its weight behind the Silent Heroes Awards (SHA) initiative, describing it as a vital platform for recognizing unsung Nigerians whose quiet sacrifices keep the country moving forward.

This came as the founder of SHA and Editor-in-Chief of Razor Media Group, Mr. Odita Sunday, on Friday presented Volume 3 of the Compendium, “Nigeria’s Silent Heroes – Men and Women Oiling Nation’s Wheel of Progress”, to the agency during a courtesy visit to its Abuja headquarters.

Speaking during the engagement, NEMA’s Special Assistant to the Director-General, Hajiya Rakiya Bello Umar, and the agency’s spokesperson, Mr. Ezekiel Manzo, commended the initiative for shining a spotlight on Nigerians who embody patriotism, resilience, and service, often without fanfare.

He stressed that such recognition helps to inspire a culture of selflessness and nation-building.

In his remarks, Mr. Sunday praised NEMA for its tireless role in disaster management and humanitarian interventions, saying the agency itself exemplifies the Silent Heroes spirit.

He emphasized that the Compendium was created to document and celebrate such sacrifices, ensuring that the stories of everyday nation-builders are not forgotten.

The visit ended with both parties pledging closer collaboration to advance initiatives that highlight humanitarian service and the collective good of the country.
