Moral Resilience, Not Just Certificates, Key to Future — Speakers at At-Tanzeel Schools’ 2025 Valedictory

Graduates of At-Tanzeel Schools have been urged to anchor their future on moral resilience, faith, and lifelong learning, not just academic qualifications.

Speaking at the school’s 2025 Valedictory Programme and Haflatul Qur’an, themed “From Learners to Leaders: Shaping Tomorrow With Purpose”, keynote speaker Kofo Olokun-Olawoyin, Executive Commissioner for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance at the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, said the “future” is already unfolding.

“The seeds for tomorrow are planted now. It’s not just about certificates; it’s about critical thinking, integrity, adaptability, and empathy,” she said.

Olokun-Olawoyin cautioned that while technology and artificial intelligence can drive innovation, they also carry the risk of distraction and intellectual passivity.

“Be deliberate about when to plug in and when to step back,” she advised. “The most sought-after people will combine competence with character.”

Dr. Zafaran Adeniyi of Vanguard Academy, in another lecture, likened the challenges facing youth to escaping predators on all sides, that is from social media distractions and drug abuse to moral decline.

“Connect with Allah, your mentors, and the right friends to safeguard your future,” he told the students.

Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Sulaiman Adedokun, Group Managing Director of Meristem Securities Limited, stressed that faith-based institutions remain critical to shaping societal values amid competing influences.

“The growth of any society depends on its values,” he said.

Board Chairman Saheed Bashir urged graduates to be worthy ambassadors of the school and advised parents to continue guiding their children.

“Let me also remind us of our joint responsibility regarding digital discipline. The school maintains a zero-tolerance stance on inappropriate gadget use, and we rely on parents to support this commitment at home. Together, we protect their minds, morals, and mission”, he added.

The event also honoured Huffaz (memorisers of the Qur’an), with Adedokun donating ₦500,000 to each complete memoriser while the school year book was also unveiled by Alhaji Razaq Asaju before it was launched by the Chairman of the occasion and others.
