Enugu Police Warn Officers Against Harassment as Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Begins

The Enugu State Police Command has assured motorists that the enforcement of tinted glass permit regulations, which takes off October 2, 2025, will be carried out with professionalism and zero tolerance for harassment or extortion.

Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, said supervisory officers would be held vicariously liable for any misconduct by their subordinates during the operation.

He emphasized that ethical guidelines must be strictly observed while clamping down on violations.

The enforcement will also cover bans on unauthorized use of sirens, revolving lights, SPY number plates, and unregistered vehicles across the state.

Motorists have been urged to secure proper permits online at www.possap.gov.ng and undergo verification at the State Command Headquarters.

The Command encouraged members of the public to report cases of extortion or unprofessional conduct to its Complaints Response Unit via 09160002486, 07059160602, 08176155557, or WhatsApp.
