NLNG, in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has celebrated the graduation of 122 trainees from the Human Capital Development (HCD) Advanced Training Programme under the Train 7 Project.

The close-out ceremony was held on Friday at NLNG’s plant complex in Finima, Bonny Island.

The programme, which officially ends on September 30, 2025, is part of the Federal Government’s Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act initiative to build indigenous capacity in the oil and gas sector.

The trainees, drawn from both graduate and vocational categories, underwent three months of intensive on-the-job training (OJT) at NLNG facilities after completing prior HCD basic training programmes.

Speaking at the event, NLNG’s Train 7 Project Director, Engr. Ali Uwais, who wasrepresented by Train 7 Project Corporate Liaison Manager, Engr. Joshua Anemeje, described the programme as a testament to the resilience and growth of the trainees.

He praised their discipline and commitment to excellence, noting the training was completed with a zero-incident safety record.

NCDMB’s General Manager, Human Capital Development, Esueme Dan Kikile, Esq, hailed the programme for producing a pool of globally competitive professionals with expertise in instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, lifting and rigging, fabrication, and plant maintenance.

He described Train 7 as one of Africa’s largest gas projects, providing a platform to groom young Nigerians with advanced technical and managerial skills.

Kikile disclosed that 27 trainees received special recognition awards, with six offered automatic employment by training partner AOS Orwell for their outstanding performance.

He commended NLNG and its partners, including Candix Engineering, AOS Orwell, Arco Marine and Engineering, Dover Engineering, and Amaiden Energy, for delivering world-class training and supporting Nigerian content goals.

The Train 7 HCD Advanced Training Programme, a flagship of NLNG’s collaboration with NCDMB, continues to drive local content development while equipping Nigerian youth to compete in the global oil and gas industry.
