Atlanticnewsonline Editor’s Book on Crime Reporting Set for Public Presentation

A new book on crime journalism authored by the Editor-in-Chief of Atlanticnewsonline, Mr. Frank Oshanugor, is scheduled for public presentation on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
The book, Crime Beat Reporting in Nigeria, will be unveiled at a ceremony slated to begin at 10 a.m. at Osun Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, located on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos. The event is expected to attract dignitaries from the security, banking, maritime and other sectors of the economy.
Chairman of the Book Presentation Committee, Mr. Emma Nnadozie, who is also the Crime Editor of Vanguard Newspapers, disclosed that the event will be chaired by Dr. Davidson Akhimien, a former military intelligence officer and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of King David Group of Companies.
The book will be presented by industrialist High Chief Richard Ifeanyi Agbapuru, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of RichyGold Group of Companies, while the review will be delivered by Prof. Chijioke Uwasomba of Obafemi Awolowo University.
Also expected at the event is Olori Janet Mba Afolabi, a veteran journalist and Queen of Apomu Kingdom in Osun State, who will serve as Mother of the Day.
Oshanugor, whose first book, Terrorism: The Nigeria Experience (1995–1998), was published in 2004, has spent about three decades in active journalism with a specialty in crime reporting. He is also experienced in security journalism, having published Security Express magazine for seven years.
According to Nnadozie, the new book draws from Oshanugor’s extensive experience in crime reporting and is expected to serve as a valuable resource for students of Mass Communication, particularly in understanding the evolution of the media and the practice of crime reporting in Nigeria.
A graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Oshanugor holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Auchi Polytechnic.
In the security field, he is a Certified Protection Officer (CPO), a designation awarded by the International Foundation for Protection Officers.
He began his journalism career at the Post Express newspaper, where he rose to the position of Deputy News Editor before venturing into other areas within the media industry.
Beyond his personal publications, Oshanugor has also overseen the production of several books for other authors through his company, where he serves as Chief Executive Officer.
