Police Reshuffle: IGP Disu Approves Strategic Posting of Senior Officers
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a wide-ranging redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force, in a strategic move to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen internal command structures.
The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid said in a statement that the postings, which affect Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs), cut across key departments, state commands, and specialised formations.
Among the AIGs redeployed are AIG Ado Emmanuel to Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG Joseph Eribo to the Department of Armament; AIG Miller G. Dantawaye to the Department of Operations; AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development; and AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget.
Also affected are AIG Dahiru Mohammed, fdc, now posted to Zone 15, Maiduguri; AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi; AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina; AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services, Force Headquarters; AIG Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos; AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, fdc, to FCID Annex, Lagos; and AIG Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit.
At the level of Commissioners of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya was posted to Jigawa State Command; CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin to Welfare, Force Headquarters; CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State Command; CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command; CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command; and CP Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State Command.
Other state command postings include CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa; CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory; CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos; CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba; CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara; CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina; and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
The reshuffle also covered training and administrative roles, with CP Aina Adesola posted to the Training Department, Force Headquarters, and CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus appointed Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.
In specialised formations, CP Akan Ezima was deployed as Director of NPF-NCCC, Abuja; CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to INTERPOL, Abuja; CP Danjuma I. Yahaya to General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Sheik M. Danko to FCID Annex, Lagos; and CP Moses Ashu Otta to SWAT, Abuja.
Further postings include CP Abbas Sule to the Special Protection Unit; CP Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to Eastern Ports Authority; CP Sarah Ehindero to Administration, FCID, Abuja; CP Edwin Ogbegbghagha as Provost, Force Headquarters; CP Preye R. The IGP charged the officers to justify their new roles with professionalism, discipline, and dedication, noting that the redeployment is part of broader reforms to reposition the Force to effectively tackle evolving security challenges nationwide.
