Lagos APC Hails e-Registration, Congresses as Benchmark for Internal Democracy

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has described its recent electronic membership registration and party congresses as a model of democratic organisation and discipline within Nigeria’s political landscape.

In a statement issued on Friday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the successful completion of the exercises reaffirmed the party’s reputation for strong structure, innovation and orderly internal processes.

Oladejo noted that the e-registration exercise and subsequent congresses across wards and local governments in Lagos State were conducted peacefully and transparently, in line with constitutional provisions guiding the party.

According to him, participation was widespread while the process remained orderly, producing what he described as a united and forward-looking leadership ready for future political tasks.

“The APC has once again demonstrated that structure, innovation and order are not mere slogans but part of our political culture,” he said.

The spokesperson added that the composition of the newly elected state executive reflects a balance of experience and youth, continuity and renewal, as well as gender inclusion.

He said the leadership team combines institutional knowledge with fresh energy needed to strengthen the party and sustain its political dominance in the state.

Oladejo also used the opportunity to criticise opposition parties, urging them to focus on building stronger internal structures rather than engaging in what he called unnecessary propaganda and factional disputes.

According to him, discipline, cohesion and organisation remain the foundation of the progressive movement’s success in Lagos and across the country.

He maintained that the outcome of the party’s congresses demonstrates the continued trust Lagos residents have in the APC as a stable and performance-driven political platform.

“The APC in Lagos stands disciplined, cohesive and ready for the tasks ahead,” Oladejo said, expressing confidence that the party would continue to enjoy strong support from voters in future elections.
