TROOPS RAID CREEK, PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE IN NIGER DELTA



The troops of 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army's field training exercise nicknamed Operation Crocodile Smile in the Niger Delta has entered day four.

The troops were involved in a number of activities including humanitarian assistance through free medical outreach, show of force, patrols and raids in the creeks. 

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman said in a statement that the troops with help of Nigerian Navy helicopters, their speed and gunboats, carried out raid on suspected oil bunkerer and militant camps at Afiagbene, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.


He said they discovered two generators, one locally made double barrel gun, one dane gun, three live cartridges, two Pumping machines, one 32 inches LG Television, one Kenwood amplifier and 4 X 50 Litres of liquid suspected to be crude oil at Ayakoromo junction.
