President Buhari appoints Ben Akabueze DG Budget Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of his Special Adviser on Planning, Ben Akabueze, as the new Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a statement said Akabueze took over from Tijani Abdullahi who will now serve as Special Adviser to the President on Planning and will continue to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning.

He said both Akabueze and Abdullahi joined the Ministry of Budget and National Planning in February.


Adesina said their redeployment was part of an ongoing exercise aimed at further repositioning the ministry to effectively deliver on its core mandate.
